Last week saw the end of our “Insurance Information Sessions” at the Community College Gippsland, a NEIS (New Enterprise Incentive Scheme) initiative to provide small business training and business mentoring; for those eligible, the chance to turn their business ideas into reality.

I would like to thank Bev Janet (Stephanitsch) for inviting me along and asking me back each year.  Over these last three years I have come to know Bev quite well, with her street wise leadership, caring and dedication for those that have been fortunate to have come across Bev, thanks you.

To those students, past and present I hope all are well and remember Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won’t, So that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can’t.  Stick to it, believe in it and make it work. It may be called a business, it’s about finance, facts and figures, but! If you look close enough you’ll see your own sweat and tears, that’s your DNA! Scientifically proving it belongs to you.

It has been an exciting journey for us too, allowing me and more recently GippsInsure (my business) a platform to share 20 years of insider knowledge with their students, helping them negotiate the insurance world. It’s complicated twists and turns, jargon and small print, the pit-falls, the do’s and don’ts………..
